Learn first-hand about fascinating people who have given Key West its colorful character! Small groups are escorted to gravesites where interpreters tell the stories of the deceased in brief monologues. Among the gravesites to be visited are those of Dr. Fredrick Weedon, Sandy Cornish, George Adderley, Walter Maloney, Elizabeth Merklin, the Waltington plot, the Navarro plot, and the Porter plot. The 90-minute tours are scheduled for departures at 9:30, 9:50, and 10:10 a.m. Wear comfortable shoes and plan to walk over a mile on uneven ground. Bottled water is to be provided. Reservations are necessary. A donation of $20 per person to the Historic Florida Keys Foundation is recommended. Proceeds are devoted to cemetery restoration. Participants may enter the cemetery by either the Windsor Street or Frances Street gate and go to the registration table on Second Ave.
